It’s been an exciting few weeks here at Audio Justice HQ. The first photo shoot for the forthcoming ‘House of Cards’ album is complete, we’re about to head into the studio to record the drums for the new songs, and legendary high-end speaker manufacturer Monitor Audio have offered to help expose the ‘House of Cards’ project to a wider audience. What larks, eh Pip?! What larks!
Let’s start at the beginning… As reported in the blog last week, I spent a full day in the company of photographer Dave Witchalls for the first ‘House of Cards’ photo shoot. It was a really productive day and was great to collaborate with Dave on some of the many ideas that we’d bounced back and forth over the last few weeks. You can see a selection of the pics that we took and read a report on the day itself by clicking here.
We are but a week away from heading into the mighty Koolworld recording studios with world renowned drummer Carlos Hercules. Regular readers here at the Audio Justice website will know that Carlos is providing his drumming expertise for the ‘House of Cards’ project, and I’m really excited about working with him on the new songs. Carlos has played with many of today’s top recording artists and his involvement with Audio Justice is something I am very proud of. I look forward to sharing our efforts with you in the coming weeks, and I’ll post some photos up of the recording sessions as soon as they’re available. In the meantime, you can click here to view the original article that I posted announcing Carlos’ contribution to the album (which includes a video of the man himself performing live at Cardiff International Arena).
Another exciting development in the Audio Justice story is the recent involvement of Monitor Audio; founded in 1972, Monitor Audio is a global specialist in premium quality hi-fi loudspeaker design. Since their inception, the company has continually searched for new ways to get closer to the people who make the music that is reproduced through its products. The logic follows that the more appreciation the company gains of the care involved in crafting the layers of sound that make up an album such as ‘House of Cards’, then the better and more accurate their speaker range can be at playing it back. The ultimate aim is to reproduce the music exactly as producers and musicians intend for it to be heard.
Monitor Audio’s worldwide customer base are a dedicated and enthusiastic bunch of music lovers eager to gain access to a rich vein of recently recorded work from new artists. Through their global network of retailers, their website, and direct mailing campaigns, Monitor Audio will be tracking the progress of the Audio Justice album ‘House of Cards’ and helping with promotion at the point of release.
It’s great to be working with such a fantastic bunch of people who are all so enthusiastic about the ‘House of Cards’ project. It really is encouraging, and I can only hope that you’re as excited as we are about hearing the new tunes. As ever, I’ll be sure to keep you posted right here at www.audiojustice.com and I look forward to updating you after I’ve been into the studio with Carlos next week.
I know I keep saying it, but thank you for your continued support. Once we’ve got the songs together I’ll try to return the compliment by uploading some for you to download and keep… watch this space!
Don’t forget, you can be the first to get Audio Justice updates by receiving news and blog items in your RSS reader, or keep up to date by receiving the newsletter. Oh, and then there’s Facebook… and Twitter… yadda yadda…
