I spent all of yesterday in the company of photographer Dave Witchalls for the first of the ‘House of Cards’ album photo shoots. We’d been bouncing ideas back and forth over the last few weeks and the day finally arrived where we were going to try some of them out…
We ended up taking over 600 photos in various locations. It was a long day, but I’m pleased to say that things worked out as well as we’d hoped. Further down this blog entry I’ve posted a brief selection of the shots we took for your perusal. When we’ve had the opportunity to sift through the rest of them I’ll be sure to invite you to come and take a look.
I’m really enjoying collaborating with others on this album project. By definition, writing, recording, producing and performing an album in it’s entirely is a relatively solitary occupation, so it’s nice to get out there and work with other people whenever possible. This is especially true when those that you’re working with share your vision, encouraging ideas and excitement to build in equal measure.
Accompanied by a big shout out to Dave Witchalls for working his magic behind the lens, here are the preview pics. Some excellent pictures there. Love the first picture of setting up. I agree with what you say about working with those who can appreciate your ideas and vision. Finding those people can be difficult but the rewards are worth holding out for.
As mentioned in the edit of the original article, we've sifted through a few more of the pics since the original post so I've added some more here. I'll add them to the 'Images' section of the website shortly, but in the meantime enjoy the card-themed japery (and try not to have nightmares after looking at the polecat images for too long…!)
